Proximus starts offering Apple TV box with Epic plan

Proximus has started offering its pay-TV service over Apple TV, as an alternative to its set-top box. This is based on the new Pickx app developed for the Apple TV 4K box.

Launched last year, Pickx is the Belgian operator's new TV platform to deliver content based on recommendations and personal preferences. It mixes up linear and on-demand content from a wide range of sources, rather than relying on the traditional linear programming grid.

Proximus said Apple TV also offers access to many more apps for TV and video as well as gaming, music and other media. Furthermore, the box can be controlled with any Apple device and offers easy access to Proximus' service without the need to fill in a user name and password.

Customers can buy an Apple TV 4K 32 GB box for EUR 69 in combination with an Epic quad-play subscription from Proximus, or get the box alone for EUR 199.99.

The operator first announced in March plans to launch the Apple TV offer with its Epic plans aimed at young people. The Epic Combo Full plan costs EUR 79.99 per month for broadband, TV, 40 GB per month for music, video and social apps, and 300 mobile minutes. A number of cloud gaming titles also are available. New customers pay only EUR 49 per month for the first three months.
