Proximus, Telenet fined for not properly identifying prepaid users

Belgian regulator BIPT has fined Proximus and Telenet for not complying with rules regarding the identification of prepaid customers. Under legislation that went into effect on 17 December 2016, end users of prepaid cards must - in the context of the fight against terrorism - be correctly identified before prepaid Sim cards are activated.
