Proximus to take DSL-4G service nationwide

Wednesday 17 May 2017 | 15:44 CET | News
Belgian operator Proximus announced plans to roll-out nationwide live user tests of its hybrid DSL-4G service, after a successful pilot. The company started testing last summer the Multipath TCP (MPTCP) technology developed with Belgian start-up Tessares in Frasnes-Lez-Anvaing. Proximus said it saw a "very high satisfaction" among customers, who received speeds up to 20 Mbps faster than before. Tessares has further developed the DSL-LTE solution for nationwide deployment, and the live user test will start later in 2017.
