Proximus trials 5G Massive MIMO with Huawei

Thursday 26 April 2018 | 17:35 CET | News
Belgian operator Proximus has carried out a 5G trial in the 3.5 GHz band (C-band) with Huawei, in Haasrode (Leuven). Proximus said the test is a major step forward in realising a 5G network and added that it was the first operator in Belgium to set up a 5G NR (New Radio) installation in line with international specifications. The test showed the possibilities of a 5G NR network: test equipment transfer rates of up to 2.94 Gbps were achieved, with an end-to-end latency of 1.81 milliseconds.
