PTA receives 4 applications for spectrum auction
Pakistan's communications regulator has received four applications for the spectrum auction on 23 April. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) received applications from local operators China Mobile (Zong), UFone, Mobilink, and Telenor Pakistan. Warid Telecom did not put in an application. The regulator confirmed that as the demand is higher than the supply, the allocation of spectrum will happen through an auction process.

Four operators qualify for Pakistan spectrum auction

Four mobile operators have qualified to participate in the auction of spectrum in the 1,800MHz and 2,100MHz bands, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said in a statement. The qualified operators are China Mobile (Zong), Mobilink, PTML (Ufone) and Telenor Pakistan. The spectrum auction is scheduled for 23 April.
