Puerto Rico to join US first responder network

Friday 1 September 2017 | 12:11 CET | News
Puerto Rican governor Ricardo Rossello announced that the island will be joining the FirstNet first responder network as part of a project to transform the territory's public safety communications. AT&T, in a public-private partnership with FirstNet, will build, operate and maintain a wireless broadband communications network for Puerto Rico's public safety community at no cost to the territory. The project "will transform the way Puerto Rico's fire, police, emergency medical services (EMS) and other public safety personnel communicate and share information," said FirstNet in a statement.
