PVRs, online video overtake traditional broadcast TV - study

Traditional broadcast TV viewing is being overtaken by two forces - personal video recorders (PVRs) and online video services, according to new research from IHS Technology. The study examined TV viewing times across the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. It found that Italians spend around 4 hours 20 minutes a day watching TV, more than any other European country. Brits are watching less TV than ever before, with the average viewing time across all platforms falling by 14 minutes between 2013 and 2014.
