Qtel picks adviser for Maroc Telecom bid - report

Qatar Telecom has hired JP Morgan Chase to advise it on a potential bid for Vivendi's Maroc Telecom, four people familiar with the matter told Reuters. Vivendi aims to get at least EUR 5.5 billion for its 53 percent stake in Morocco's biggest operator, and has received initial expressions of interest from four carriers, sources told Reuters in October. In addition to Qtel, other possible bidders are thought to be France Telecom MTN, Etisalat and Saudi Telecom. In addition to the JP Morgan mandate, Qtel mandated six banks for a possible benchmark-sized dollar-denominated bond, lead arrangers
