Qualcomm acquires Dutch AI startup Scyfer

Qualcomm Technologies has announced the acquisition of Netherlands-based machine learning startup Scyfer for an undisclosed amount. In a statement confirming the deal and outlining its artificial intelligence (AI) strategy, Qualcomm said Scyfer's team will join the company but continue to be based in Amsterdam. Scyfer's founder, Max Welling, will also continue in his role as a professor at the University of Amsterdam. The startup has already built AI solutions for companies worldwide and in a number of different industries, including manufacturing, healthcare and finance, said Qualcomm.
