Qualcomm, Audi to run Cellular-V2X research trial

Qualcomm Technologies and Audi have partnered with other organisations to carry out a trial of cellular Vehicle-to-Everything communication technology. The research consortium ConVeX, which includes SWARCO Traffic Systems and the University of Kaiserslautern, will launch the C-V2X trial based upon the 3rd Generation Partnership Project's Release 14. The trial will test Vehicle-to-Vehicle, Vehicle-to-Infrastructure and Vehicle-to-Pedestrian technology, as well as Vehicle-to-Network wide area communications, within a field test environment.
