Qualcomm completes CSR takeover

Qualcomm said it completed its takeover of wireless chip specialist CSR, first announced in October 2014. UK-based CSR will help Qualcomm extends its product offering in the market for automotive and IoT connections, including key short-range wireless technology. CSR's main subsidiary Cambridge Silicon Radio will be renamed Qualcomm Technologies International after the takeover. The acquisition gave CSR an enterprise value of USD 2.2 billion and is expected to be "modestly accretive" to Qualcomm's adjusted earnings in fiscal 2016.
