Qualcomm confirms CEO transition
Qualcomm confirmed that Steven Mollenkopf has taken over as CEO of the company. At the company's annual shareholders meeting, the former CEO, Paul Jacobs, was named executive chairman. Jacobs will focus on technology development and long-term strategy, while Mollenkopf, the former COO of Qualcomm, is responsible for all business lines and divisions. 

Prior to his role as President and COO, Mollenkopf led the company's chipset business, overseeing the launch of 4G technology and the introduction of WCDMA. Mollenkopf also led the company's USD 3.1 billion acquisition of Atheros, helping the group expand into new segments beyond mobile handsets.

Qualcomm raises quarterly dividend, repurchase authorisation

Qualcomm's board of directors has approved a 20 percent increase in the company's quarterly cash dividend and, effective immediately, a USD 5.0 billion increase in its stock repurchase authorisation. The cash dividend will increase from USD 0.35 to USD 0.42 per share of common stock and will be effective for quarterly dividends payable after 26 March.
