Qualcomm drops plan for smart TV processor

Qualcomm announced that it had decided to not commercialise the Snapdragon 802 processor, designed for smart TVs. The chipmaker fist announced the product in early January at CES. The company said "overall demand for processors uniquely designed for smart TVs has proven to be smaller than anticipated". The decision applies only to the Snapdragon 802 processor and not to other products in the range.
