Qualcomm posts quarterly loss of USD 6 bln on competition fines, tax charges

Wednesday 31 January 2018 | 22:53 CET | News
Qualcomm reported a net loss of USD 6.0 billion for its fiscal first quarter to December, compared to a profit of USD 0.7 billion a year ago, due to provisions for competition fines in the EU and Taiwan and charges for the US corporate tax reform. The operating result was breakeven, while revenues were up just 1 percent year-on-year to USD 6.1 billion, in line with the company's outlook.
