Qualcomm starts job cuts in California

Qualcomm has begun cutting about 1,500 jobs in California as part its plans to reduce costs by around USD 1 billion, people familiar with the process told Bloomberg. Further job cuts are expected in other locations, but California will receive the brunt of the workforce reduction. Globally, Qualcomm employs about 34,000 people.
