Qualcomm unveils LTE modem for IoT

Qualcomm has announced a new modem for developing the Internet of Things over LTE networks. The 9207-1 modem is purpose-built for the IoT in order to be flexible, scalable and cost-optimized, with long battery life. Using the LTE Cat 1 standard, it offers advanced power savings capability, robust hardware and software security, global band support for LTE and support for adding Wi-Fi, including customizable options. It targets applications such as smart metering, security and automation, tracking, wearables and point-of-sale transactions. The 9207-1 is designed to replace a long list of line
