Quarter of EU internet users affected by security issues

Around 1 in 4 internet users in the European Union experienced an online security problem in 2015, according to a report issued by Eurostat to coincide with Safer Internet Day. The EU average of 25 percent ranges from just 10 percent of users who reported internet security issues in the Czech Republic to the 42 percent of Croatians who encountered problems. The majority of users had problems in the form of computer viruses, with 21 percent of European internet users reporting that they had caught a virus or other computer infection, a figure that is 10 percent lower than the EU average of 31
