Rabobank to shut down MiniTix mobile wallet in November

Rabobank will stop offering its MiniTix mobile wallet service from 01 November. The Dutch bank said mobile payments was moving towards contactless methods, and it plans to scale down other services such as MiniTix, which uses the mobile number as a unique key and was started in 2003. Dormant MiniTix accounts will be shut down by the end of June, and active users will be informed by September of the pending shutdown. MiniTix worked with services such as MyOrder Cashless, a service for point-of-sale payments with NFC stickers or bands. Clubs, corporate cantines and other small organisations use
