Rackspace to lay off 6% of workforce in US

Rackspace announced plans to reduce its workforce in the US by 6 percent, as well as lay off staff in other countries. CEO Taylor Rhodes said the reductions abroad would be "somewhat smaller" than in the US. The aim of the restructuring is mainly to reduce corporate administrative expenses and management layers, while limiting the impact on sales and customer support. Rhodes said in some parts of the US business, the workforce had grown more rapidly than revenue.
