Raspberry sells over 5 million Pi computers in under 3 years

The Raspberry Pi Foundation, the UK charity behind the Pi inexpensive, credit-card sized computer, announced that it had sold over 5 million units worldwide in less than three years. This makes it the fastest-selling British computer and only second in total sales to Amstrad, which sold 8 million early computers between 1984 and 1997. Raspberry sold 2 million Pis by November 2013, 3 million by the following summer and 4 million by the end of December 2014. Sale proceeds go towards activities such as teacher training, educational resources and open-source projects.
