Record 28% of smartphones sold online in 2020 - study

Online retail channels are set to account for a record 28 percent share of all smartphones sold around the world in 2020, up from 24 percent in 2019, according to data from Strategy Analytics. The report said the coronavirus pandemic is "rewriting the rulebook" of smartphone sales, with local quarantines and social distancing forcing consumers to change their shopping habits and ever more businesses shifting to online retail channels.
