Reliance Communications posts stable revenues, EBITDA
Indian mobile operator Reliance Communications reported stable revenues and EBITDA for the fiscal third quarter to December, while net profit fell 26 percent due to an increase in financing costs. Net revenues edged 0.9 percent higher to INR 41.47 billion, while EBITDA rose 0.4 percent to INR 16.11 billion. The margin rose to 31.9 percent from 31.8 a year earlier. Net profit dropped to INR 1.86 million from INR 2.52 billion a year ago. At its mobile activities, revenues rose 0.7 percent to INR 18.76 billion, and EBITDA grew 0.6 percent at INR 11.82 billion. The number of customers rose by almost 3 million in the quarter to 150.08 million at the end of 2011. ARPU dipped to INR 100 from INR 101 in the previous quarter, while revenue per minute was stable at INR 0.45. MOU fell to 224 from 227 in the September quarter. The Global enterprise division recorded net sales up 14.5 percent to INR 18.76 billion, and EBITDA was unchanged year-on-year at INR 5.69 billion. The operator generated positive free cash flow of INR 16.1 billion and said it expects this to continue. Investments in Q3 totaled INR 35.54 billion.
