Reliance Jio picks Hughes for nationwide satellite backhaul network

Hughes Communications India, a unit of Hughes Network Systems, had announced that Indian operator Reliance Jio Infocomm (Jio), has selected the Hughes Jupiter System to enable satellite connectivity to more than 400 4G/LTE sites in remote and rural locations. The Jupiter System satellite networking service backhauls all generations of cellular technologies, Hughes said. The system is designed to deliver more than 200 Mbps of TCP throughput per terminal and includes built-in 4G/LTE optimization capability. Under the terms of the agreement with Jio, Hughes India will provide a managed service
