Reliance Jio to offer mobile phones locked with Jio SIMs at offline stores

Reliance Industries has unveils a new offline retail strategy, under which its Reliance Jio mobile unit targets India's 250 million 2G feature phone users. Most of these users are part of rival operator Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea, The Economic Times reports. Reliance Jio has signed partnership deals with offline stores to offer mobile devices locked with Jio SIMs. Jio has also signed reverse handset bundling partnerships with handset manufacturers Vivo, Xiaomi, Samsung, Oppo, HMD Global and iTel etc. Jio plans to launch its JioPhone Next smartphone, in partnership with Google, on 10
