Rembrandt wins Bluetooth patent case against Samsung

A Texas federal jury awarded USD 15.7 million to US-based business technology company Rembrandt Wireless Technologies after finding that Korean electronics giant Samsung Electronics infringed on two Rembrandt patents covering Bluetooth technology. In addition to the USD 15.7 million award, Rembrandt will also receive royalty payments on all Samsung Bluetooth sales for the life of the patents. The second company accused by Rembrandt of patent infringement, Blackberry, settled before the trial.
