Renesas starts massive restructuring plan

Renesas Electronics has started a massive restructuring process which will seek to reduce personnel numbers and merge certain operations. The company has also proceeded, according to plan, with efforts to secure support and capital from major shareholders and banks, as well as enact other initiatives. The company is seeking to implement measures aimed at ensuring future growth by strengthening the revenue base by improving cost structures, speeding up decision-making, achieving increased adequacy and efficiency in business operations, and boosting competitiveness.
