Report set to criticise Huawei's UK telecoms role

The UK Government has heavily redacted a critical parliamentary report into Chinese telecoms equipment supplier Huawei Technologies amid concerns about the potential impact on Chinese investment in the UK, reports the Financial Times. The Intelligence and Security Committee report will highlight Huawei's central role in the UK's telecoms infrastructure since winning a major contract with BT in 2004. Sources familiar with the report say it will recommend that GCHQ should oversee the cybersecurity centre in Banbury, where Huawei equipment is examined. Sources close to the Committee said Downing
