RIM head of sales resigns

Patrick Spence has resigned as head of global sales at Research In Motion. Spence is taking a job in a different industry following 14 years at the Blackberry maker, a spokeswoman for RIM confirmed to Bloomberg. The sales team will report to Kristian Tear, RIM's new operating chief, who will start this summer. Until then, the division will report directly to CEO Thorsten Heins.
