Robi posts Q2 loss on tax burden, revenues up 12%

Bangladesh mobile operator Robi said it suffered a loss in the second quarter due to tax and regulatory burdens and the switch to IFRS 16 accounting, at BDT 320.2 million. Revenues still rose 12.4 percent year-on-year to BDT 18.6 billion. Growth was led by a 28.9 percent rise in data revenues and 9.7 percent growth in voice revenues.
