Romania ready to reorganise spectrum for new 3G player

Romania's regulator is open to a spectrum reorganisation in the event a new player wants to enter the local 3G market, Ancom's president Catalin Marinescu told Romanian newspaper Business Standard. The authority will be able to offer a new 3G licence if it receives a clear request for such a licence and after it consults with local operators, Marinescu added. Of all the four major operators in Europe, only Telefonica is absent from Romania's 3G market. France Telecom through Orange Romania and Vodafone through Vodafone Romania already own 3G licences in Romania. Deutsche Telekom will soon
