Romtelecom, Cosmote outsource networks to Ericsson 

Ericsson signed a seven-year managed services agreement with leading Romanian operators Romtelecom and Cosmote, both subsidiaries of OTE and Deutsche Telekom. Ericsson will manage the operators' wireline and wireless networks in Romania. The agreement extends Ericsson's footprint in managed services in Romania with a new agreement with Cosmote Romania and an extension of the partnership with Romtelecom.

Ericsson will assume responsibility for network operations and maintenance of wireline and wireless access, transmission, core and IP domains as well as network operations for operations support systems for Romtelecom and Cosmote Romania. Around 730 employees will join Ericsson's Global Services organization.

Ericsson completed the deployment of the first mobile NB-IoT clusters in the Cosmote 4G/LTE network in eleven Greek cities and hotspots, to support emerging massive Machine Type Communications (mMTC) use cases. Ericsson to reach 3,300 staff in Romania by 2014 end

Ericsson Romania will reach approximately 3,000 employees at the end of 2014 from 2,800 at present, according to local paper Ziarul Financiar. In 2015, 300 more employees will be hired by the group. Ericsson entered into a seven-year agreement with Deutche Telekom's operators in Romania, Romtelecom and Cosmote which were recently rebranded as Telekom Romania, through which the company will provide integrated support services for the telecom companies' areas of operation and networks maintenance.

Romtelecom, Cosmote to adopt Telekom brand in Sept - report

Fixed operator Romtelecom and mobile operators Cosmote Romania and Zapp will merge in September under the brand Telekom Romania, according to local publication Economica.net citing market sources. Cosmote will operate under the Telekom Romania Mobil brand, while Romtelecom will provide services under the Telekom Romania Fix brand. Hrvatski Telekom, Ericsson sign outsourcing agreement

A non-binding letter of intent has been signed between Croatian operator T-Hrvatski Telekom, Ericsson and Croatian telecom equipment manufacturer Ericsson Nikola Tesla to outsource HT's networks construction and maintenance services. Around 650 Hrvatski Telekom employees will be transferred to a subsidiary of Ericsson Nikola Tesla. A public announcement will be released with details on the project after the closure of the agreement, and the companies obtain the required corporate and regulatory approvals.

Romtelecom, Cosmote to outsource NOCs to Ericsson

Romtelecom and Cosmote Romania are in talks with Ericsson to outsource their Network Operation Centres, according to local publication Wall-street.ro. The aim is to cut costs for the two operators. The companies told Wallstreet.ro that over 700 employees will be affected by this decision. However, these employees will not lose their jobs as they will be transferred to Ericsson.
