Spain’s three leading broadcasters have announced the details of a new shared content platform open to all DTT operators using HbbTV technology. After reaching an agreement in March, state broadcaster RTVE and commercial broadcasters Atresmedia and Mediaset said the new service – dubbed LovesTV – will be launched on 14 June. It will initially offer on-demand access to the last seven days of programming from the combined 18 channels managed by the broadcasters as well as the ability to restart live programmes and recommend shows, together with an improved TV guide.
The partners said the platform is open to all remaining DTT, free-to-air operators and will eventually offer a pure OTT platform via the internet in addition to the HbbTV version.
