Russian govt to support trans-Arctic cable deployment

The Russian Ministry of Communications and Mass Media plans to support a project on the deployment of a trans-Arctic fibre-optic cable system, reports Comnews.ru. The project is being carried out by the Russian company Polarnet Project, and Finnish company Cinia Group has also expressed interest. Polarnet and Cinia plan to set up in August a joint venture for development of the project.
