Russian watchdog to make mobile operators stop spam

Russian federal competition regulator FAS has proposed to make mobile operators responsible for stopping the dissemination of spam, reports Itar-Tass citing Sergey Gavrilov, the head of the Novosibirsk regional branch of the regulator. The regulator has initiated a legal amendment on the issue. NGOs proposed to oblige the regulator to carry out anti-spam investigation activities in December 2013. The regulator claims that the amount of complaints on the issue is increasing, and FAS is unable to carry out the investigation in a timely manner.
