Russian watchdog warns Facebook over data retention

Russian federal telecommunications regulator Roskomnadzor has warned Facebook that it plans to check the company's compliance with domestic law, requiring it to store the data of Russian users within the country, reports Tdaily.ru citing Alexander Zharov, head of the regulator. The watchdog is considering monitoring the social network's compliance in 2018.
