Safaricom denies reports of Facebook plans to buy M-Pesa

Kenyan operator Safaricom's CEO Bob Collymore has dismissed as fake the internet story that Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook want to buy Safaricom's money transfer service, M-Pesa. Collymore told The Star that Zuckerberg, who is Facebook co-founder and CEO, could hire developers and build a payment platform if he really wanted a facility like M-Pesa. Collymore said somebody made up the story.
