Safaricom fixed internet use rise 70% as customers stay at home during pandemic

Kenyan operator Safaricom said fixed internet consumption has grown by 70 percent as people adhere to the government call to stay at home to check the spread of Covid-19. Mobile data usage has risen by 35 percent as customers go online to work or study from home and access social media and entertainment sites, said Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa.
