Safaricom forms Vodafamily Ethiopia Holding

Kenyan operator Safaricom has disclosed the exact ownership structure of the consortium that on 22 May won a licence to enter the Ethiopian market at a cost of USD 850 million. Safaricom has formed Vodafamily Ethiopia Holding Company, a firm incorporated in the UK and in which Safaricom owns a 90 percent stake. The special purpose vehicle (SPV) is also owned by Vodacom International with 10 percent and a single share held by Vodafone International Operations.
