Safaricom objects to Equity plan to use SIM overlap tech

Equity Bank's plan to launch MVNO services in Kenya are at risk following an objection from Safaricom over the piggy-back technology that the bank intends to use, Business Daily reported. Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore has told industry regulators that Equity Bank should be prohibited from issuing thin SIM cards as they could expose subscribers to financial fraud and intercepted communication.
