Safaricom picks Lopokoiyit to head M-Pesa venture with Vodacom

Kenyan operator Safaricom has appointed the head of its financial services division, Sitoyo Lopokoiyit, to head the newly created joint venture with Vodacom Group that will run the M-Pesa platform, Business Daily reported. In April, the two companies completed the acquisition of the M-Pesa brand from Vodafone Group in a KES 1.4 billion transaction.
