Safaricom plans 250 5G sites by end of 2021

Kenyan operator Safaricom wants to expand its number of 5G sites by up to seventeen times by the end of the year to reach more subscribers in urban centres, Business Daily reported. It launched the 5G technology with fifteen sites in March and wants to raise this to up to 250 sites in nine towns. CFO Dilip Pal said the expansion has been catered for in the operator's capital expenditure plans.
