Safaricom raises musicians' Skiza commission to 30% vs 22%

Kenyan operator Safaricom has announced a 36 percent increase in the amount that domestic artists will earn for music sold through its skiza music platform. Musicians will now earn a 30 percent royalty, up from the current 22 percent they earn per song. The amount will be paid through their Content Service Providers, who will then pay the musicians in accordance with the contracts they have signed and in line with recent legal directives.
