Safaricom signs mobile money interoperability deal with Telkom Kenya

Safaricom and Telkom Kenya are bringing in fund transfers between M-Pesa to T-kash and vice versa at no extra cost on 04 October. The first phase went live in April, when the two operators allowed the transfer of funds directly from one provider's mobile account into the other. The cost of sending KES 1,000 from T-kash to M-Pesa will drop to KES 10 from the current KES 35 charge, a 71 percent reduction, and sending KES 1,000 from M-Pesa to T-kash will drop to KES 11 from KES 45, down by 76 percent.
