Samsung begins mass production of chips at new Seoul plant

Samsung Electronics has announced the start of mass production and shipping at its new semiconductor fabrication facility in Pyeongtaek, south of Seoul. The plant houses the largest single fabrication line in the industry and will focus on the production of the company's latest three-dimensional V-NAND flash chips. Samsung added that the new line help meet semiconductor demand in the fields of Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, big data and automotive technologies.
