Samsung CEO calls for new start after Note 7 crisis

Samsung Electronics will use its recent crisis with the Note 7 smartphone as a catalyst for a new start, focusing on risk management and innovation, according co-CEO Kwon Oh-hyun in a statement to employees to mark the company's 47th anniversary. The global economy isn't showing any signs of recovery and Samsung needs to focus on innovation to strengthen competitiveness, Bloomberg reported from the speech. "The latest crisis made us look back at ourselves and think maybe we have grown complacent, and it served as momentum for a new start," Kwon said. "We should continue to push for innovation
