Samsung considers sale of mobile networks business - report

Samsung is considering selling its wireless networking business, Light Reading reported citing unnamed industry sources. Samsung network equipment customers include SK Telecom, Sprint, Verizon Wireless and Vodafone. Samsung is said to be considering strategic options for the unit, which could mean a sale to one of its rivals in the base station business, the report said. A senior mobile industry executive confirmed that there was talk in the market that Samsung is looking to offload its wireless business and that this would not come as a surprise given the change in the competitive landscape
