Huawei wins damages from Samsung in Chinese patent case
A Chinese court has ordered Samsung Electronics to pay CNY 80 million (USD 11.60 million) in damages to Huawei Technologies for patent infringement, reports Reuters. Three units of Samsung have been ordered by the Quanzhou Intermediary Court to pay the sum for infringing a patent held by Huawei Device Co Limited, the handset unit of Huawei, according to the Quanzhou Evening News, a government-run newspaper. The verdict is the first in several lawsuits brought by Huawei against Samsung.
