Huawei and Samsung have filed a motion in US court to stay their ongoing patent infringement lawsuits. The filing said the two smartphone makers have reached a settlement agreement and expect to finalise the deal soon.
Huawei sued Samsung in 2016 in the US and China after the two were unable to agree a licence. Samsung followed suit with its own lawsuits and allegations. Huawei won a preliminary victory in Chinese court in 2017 when Samsung was ordered to pay damages.
The settlement was announced in a filing with the US federal court in northern California, where their US case is being heard. No details of the proposed settlement were disclosed.
