Samsung introduces 64MP Isocell image sensor

Thursday 9 May 2019 | 09:32 CET | News
Samsung Electronics has announced two new 0.8-micrometer (μm) pixel image sensors for smartphone cameras including a 64 megapixel image sensor that offers the industry's highest resolution according to the company. The 64MP Isocell Bright GW1 sensor features pixel-merging Tetracell technology and remosaic algorithm, allowing users to take bright 16MP images in low-light environments and highly-detailed 64MP shots in brighter settings, said Samsung. It also supports real-time high dynamic range (HDR) of up to 100 decibels (dB) to provide richer hues.
