Samsung launches contactless ordering, payment Kiosk in 12 markets

Samsung has announced expanded availability of the Samsung Kiosk in 12 countries worldwide. The all-inclusive solution supports contactless ordering and payments.

The Samsung Kiosk is now available in the US, UK, Canada, Singapore, Australia, Austria, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, France and Ireland; with additional markets to be added in the coming months. The 24-in touchscreen is powered by Samsung's SoC technology, with the Kiosk using 3-layer security powered by Samsung Knox. It has a cradle for major EMV terminals (Visa, MasterCard, Europay), as well as barcode and QR code readers, and integrated printer and Wi-Fi system.

Samsung net profit jumps 73% in Q2 on strong chip demand, steady mobile business

Samsung Electronics reported second-quarter revenues up 20 percent year-on-year to KRW 63.67 trillion, driven by the strong market demand for memory and other semiconductor products as well as premium consumer electronics. This helped offset component shortages and supply chain problems affecting its smartphone business. Operating profit jumped 54 percent to KRW 12.57 trillion, and the company's net profit rose 73 percent to KRW 9.63 trillion.
